If you are selling your home you need an inspection and a certificate, known as a 26F & 26F1/2 {FP-007C}, from your local fire department.  The inspection is state mandated in order to pass papers.  The fees are as follows: $50 for a single family, $100 for a two family, $150 for 3 to 5 family, and $500 for 6 family or larger.  The fee is due on the day of inspection.  Acceptable forms of payment are cash, money order, or bank check. CLICK HERE to find out what type of detectors are needed and where they should be located.  Smoke detectors must be replaced 10 years after the date of manufacture.  Carbon Monoxide detectors must be replaced 7 years after the date of manufacture.

          Fill out the form below to make an appointment.  The Deputy Fire Chief on duty conducts inspections 7 days a week between the hours of 1pm - 3pm.  When choosing a date for inspection you must choose a date at least 48 HOURS in advance from when you submit the form below.  Upon a successful inspection the certificate issued will be valid for 60 days per state law.
